What Happened?!
This is my second post after a nearly 3 year hiatus. The post explains further.
On September 9th 2008 I suffered a hemorrhage in the left parietal lobe of my brain – a stroke. In geek speak, I think of it as experiencing an “on board hard drive crash”.
To continue the computer analogy, I suffered cascading peripheral failures. I couldn’t, at the time, figure out how to make my hands work nor make my eyes focus. Attempting to walk was pretty much a bad idea but I found walls to be extremely useful if not essential. It wasn’t physically painful, but it’s repercussions have been massive.
Partial listing of impacted systems (@date):
- Processor Speed: down 10% – 40% (energy dependent)
- Memory & recall: moderate to severe
- Speed & Endurance: variable
- Data Retrieval: variable tending towards annoying
- Data Concatenation & Output: annoying tending towards expletives
All in all, I have faired much better than I could have. I’ll write more on this but for now I’ll leave you with an interesting and insightful video of one person’s experience.
To Be Continues….
